Junior doctors' strike, 10 February 2016

We are planning for how to cope with the disruption the national junior doctors' strike will cause on Wednesday 10 February. Our main priority is ensuring that patient safety is maintained at all times.

We are going to redirect some of our consultant medical staff and other clinical staff to cover the roles that junior doctors would normally be undertaking. This means that our emergency services and any patients staying in the hospital will be unaffected.

If your appointment for Wednesday, 10 February, has been cancelled we will contact you to inform you and will be working on getting a new date for you as soon as possible.

Some patients with appointments will be contacted to say that we postponing the decision to cancel for next Tuesday until Monday evening in case both sides reach agreement. If you are in this group, please watch the news and we will also contact you on Monday evening to confirm either way.

For patients who haven't been contacted, please presume that your appointment is going ahead. This is because even if the strike is on, many of our services are continuing as normal, as they do not rely on junior doctors.
