Our support for a new link road to RBH

A planning application for a proposed new link road from the A338 to Wessex Fields, including the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, has been submitted to Bournemouth Borough Council.

We are in support of this road, and hope it will:

  • improve our patient experience and the quality and safety of our services
  • ensure safe and timely access to the hospital for ambulances
  • help to safeguard the 4,000 jobs currently associated with the hospital and support our recruitment of high quality staff
  • support the planned development of the hospital as the major emergency hospital for east Dorset
  • reduce stress and improve wellbeing
  • help unlock the Wessex Fields campus for development for new businesses, jobs and public amenities, potentially including keyworker housing

You can read our full letter of support to the council here.
