The Macmillan Unit at Christchurch Hospital is a Specialist Palliative Care Unit for patients in South East Dorset and South West Hampshire. It is run by the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and the core services are met by the Hospital Trust. In 2009 it was awarded 'Practice Development Unit Status', making it a Centre of Excellence.

The Haven

Help and Care

We offer breast cancer support designed for you. A diagnosis of breast cancer can be frightening and the treatment gruelling. Surgery, hair loss, radiation, chemotherapy and medication can all take its toll. Medical treatment is necessary but you will need so much more than this. Family members and close friends of people that have been diagnosed with breast cancer can access up to four hours of free counselling. Anyone can come – whether you’ve just been diagnosed, having treatment or in recovery. There is no need for a doctor’s referral. So just contact us, make an appointment and we will take it from there.
