RBCH is 'highly commended' Trust of the Year

The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals (RBCH) has been ‘highly commended’ in the Health Services Journal (HSJ) Awards 2018 Trust of the Year category.

The award ceremony was held at the Intercontinental O2, London with over 1800 NHS leaders, front line staff and innovators from across the health sector. Life changing projects, initiatives and people were recognised for their achievements in improving patient care and experience, technology, integration, safety, culture and workforce.

Tony Spotswood, the Trust Chief Executive Officer, said: “I am very proud that our Trust was Highly Commended in the Trust of the Year category. This is a fantastic achievement and a great accolade. I would like to thank every member of staff at the Trust as I know they have all worked tirelessly providing the best care for our patients, with a strong focus on safety and quality.

The awards were a great opportunity for us to share all that we have achieved with the HSJ and beyond, and I am so glad that this was recognised in this way in the headline category. This award gives us a great foundation as we continue the work to become the major emergency hospital for east Dorset and merge with Poole Hospital.”

Supported by a range of pioneering partner organisations including the headline partner GRI the 240 HSJ Awards judges reviewed over 1400 entries over a 3 stage judging process to acknowledge over 200 well deserved finalists.

The HSJ Awards celebrate the passion for high quality care delivered by the people who work in and with the NHS from across the United Kingdom. All the finalists and winners represent not only best in class but world class health and social care.
