Low vision advice and support day

21 August 2019

A free event for those with low vision and sight loss is being held at the Eye Unit at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital on 7 September between 11am and 3pm.

A wide range of local and national low vision charities will be exhibiting and staff from the unit will be on hand to answer questions and provide information.

Mrs Non Matthews, consultant ophthalmologist, will be the keynote speaker at the event. She said: “Our annual event is a great place for those with low vision and sight loss to find out what services, support and advice is available to them and their families.

“Having these charities which provide vital services in one place makes finding out what support is available easier and we hope that anyone who experiences low vision and sight loss will find it useful.”

Refreshments will be available to buy on the day. Cream teas will be served from 1pm in the Eye Unit raising money for new equipment for the new Macular Suite.
