What to do when you are not happy with the way you are treated at the hospital

We know that patients are not always happy with how they are treated at the hospital and we want to make things right.

If you are not happy with the way you have been treated at our hospital then it is better if you tell someone while you are still in hospital. This makes it easier for us to make things better faster.

If you are unhappy, there are some things you can do while in hospital.

1. Speak to the Clinical Leader (nurse or doctor in charge) of the ward that you are in.

Anyone working at the hospital will be able to tell you who the Clinical Leader is.

2. Speak to a manager on the ward that you are in.

Any one working at the hospital will be able to tell you who the manager is.

3. Speak to the PALS team. They are a friendly team that can help sort things out by speaking to the right people.

You can contact them by visiting their office in the main entrance of the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, or by calling them on 01202 704886.

4. The PALS team can help with making a formal complaint. You can contact them by calling 01202 704486. You can also do this by using one of the white phones on the wall and calling extension 4486.
