Parking concessions

Free or discounted parking is available for the following:

  • Vehicles that are tax exempt due to driver or passenger disability.
  • Patients undergoing treatment for cancer at the Trust, when they are attending as part of on-going treatment regimen. This includes courses of chemotherapy, daily or weekly infusions, and reviews during chemotherapy treatment. Concessions do not apply to ad hoc visits once treatment has ceased or for blood tests at any time.
  • Relatives of patients who assist with the day to day care of an inpatient on a daily basis, following confirmation by the ward sister.
  • Relatives of patients who are receiving end-of-life care.
  • Parents or guardians of children undergoing inpatient treatment at the Trust.
  • Relatives of patients on the ITU/HDU wards where long term repeat visits are undertaken following confirmation by the ward sister.
  • All concessions for relatives are limited to two vehicles per patient per day.

Please note, Blue Badge holders who do not qualify for any of the above categories may park in dedicated disabled bays but must pay the relevant charge. The only exemption is disabled blue badge holders with tax exempt vehicles. This is in line with neighbouring hospitals and local authorities.

If you wish to take advantage of a parking concession, please contact the ward sister or charge nurse. They will review your eligibility for concessions and advise you accordingly and can arrange exemption certificates.

If you are visiting regularly in a week and do not fit into any of the categories above you can purchase a book of discount tickets to cover one week's parking from the Car Park office in the Main Entrance for a cost of £20.
